Incoming Treasure: introducing ReStore’s newest truck

New Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore TruckWe are excited to introduce the newest addition to our ReStore “staff”.
A new, larger and better equipped box truck.

We are always working on making the ReStore better.

Why a new truck?
ReStore’s profits benefit the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity and enable us to deliver on the mission of building safe and affordable homes.

We have hobbled along, and when the old truck was in the shop for TLC, we would rent a interim truck – adding to the expense and creating a sense of adventure for our staff 🙂

The new truck has increased the efficiency of donation pickup.
It is a larger truck and therefore there is no need to return to the ReStore to unload.
The new truck has eased donation pickup since it has a side load door and a lift gate.
It means that the donation pickup lead time has dropped from weeks to days. You can call us to schedule your donation pickup and we might be able to serve you within the week. Call 978-686-3323.
It means that we can now accommodate your donation of pallets’ worth of material. With the lift gate we can easily load it into the truck without breaking our backs or yours.
It means that we will have more incoming donations daily and therefore fresh inventory for our shoppers on a daily basis.

Additional benefits is a better first impression and a ‘driving’ billboard to spread our message and branding.
Those first encounters and first impressions are important and can set the tone.
Whenever the ReStore drops by to do a donation pickup – at a business or a home – it is our chance to give a good impression.
A new truck with the right message is key in letting people know who the ReStore is and what it does.

Every donation, every purchase helps build homes.
Shop. Donate. Volunteer.

All combined, it means that we can generate more profits. More profits = more homes.

Old Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore truckSo, it has been on the ReStore’s budget to replace our primary box truck – our much loved and well used box truck.

Enter Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity board member & treasurer Jeff Perrone:
Working behind the scenes and sometimes very much in front of the scenes, he made a line item in the budget into a written check.

General Truck Center logoEnter General Truck Center from Methuen, MA.
General Truck Center is a full service commercial truck dealership that has been selling and maintaining commercial trucks since 1924. They carry a large inventory of new an used trucks – and one of those new trucks is ours.
Together, Treasurer Jeff Perrone & General Truck Center, worked to secure the box truck for us.

Although we have had the new truck in service since early this year, the truck was a bit shy and did not want to be showcased until it had its face on.

Elwell Design logoEnter Elwell Design who with 20 years of experience has developed award-winning design solutions for clients.  They have worked with us for our Merrimack Valley Habitat For Humanity newsletter and annual appeal.
Elwell Design provided us a  truck wrap design that could quickly present the ReStore’s mission:
Shop. Donate. Volunteer.
Every donation, every purchase helps build homes.

Wrap Solutions logoEnter Wrap Solutions in Boston. Wrap Solutions does design, printing and vehicle wrap installation. Wrapping our new box truck was expertly done by them.

So, if you see this while you are beside or behind a truck, it is the new ReStore truck!
