ReStore Volunteer Profile of Harvey Card

As part of our #MeetOurVolunteers feature, we are delighted to share Harvey Lee Card with you.

Originally from Lynnfield, MA, Harvey spent many of his working years in Tewksbury,  before moving to North Reading where he lives now.

Harvey is a man capable of wearing many hats. He started out working as an Auto Body Trade Mechanic, prior to becoming a Sales Manager. He then changed career paths completely by becoming a teacher at a local vocational school and finally spent his years before retirement in 2017 in facilities maintenance.

No wonder he is such great help as a volunteer at our ReStore where he has been lending a very helpful hand for just over 2-years.

Harvey discovered Habitat for Humanity when he volunteered with our affiliate in Lowell, during his time with Progress Software. He recalls being very impressed with the program. He enjoys helping and teaching people, guiding them to efficient ways of completing projects and helping enhance individual skills.

Harvey is “happy to volunteer at the ReStore and enjoys meeting likeminded individuals doing the same”.

When not helping out at the ReStore, Harvey loves to ride one of his motorcycles and is involved with the Christian Motorcycle Association. He also has a seasonal vacation spot at Old Orchard Beach, where he spends time during the summer months.

Our work, providing affordable homes to local families in need, is only possible thanks to the commitment and dedication of volunteers like Harvey!
